I think there is a major difference:

Although Jimi was playing a right-handed guitar, it was strung for a left-handed player. So, in reality, he wasn't doing anything difficult. It was more for aesthetics.

Now, Ringo on the other hand, was playing a right-handed drum set, as a left-handed player. And, most times, he was actually playing as a right-handed drummer, which he wasn't.

Much harder to do than simply flipping your guitar around and restringing it properly.

Does that make sense?

I could be wrong, but think I've seen our very own apparently left-handed Larry Russell just grab a right-handed bass and start playing on a number of occasions. Very impressive and the sign of a very musical individual, if, in fact, that is what I was seeing.

Im left handed in everything, but I play the guitar and bass right handed? Is that weird? I also dance with 2 left foot...now that makes sense!

No it's not wierd. In my short time taking guitar lessons, I also played right handed and I am a lefty. I also dance with 2 left feet!
