Here are the details - the show actually opens this Thursday, June 12 and runs through June 17th. They WILL be open on 6/16.
http://www.junekellyg... John Lennon and Ringo Starr: A Time Remembered Photographs http://www.junekellyg... An exhibition of unique photographs of the Beatles and other music world legends by Nancy Lee Andrews and May Pang entitled "John Lennon and Ringo Starr: A Time Remembered" will be presented at the June Kelly Gallery from June 12 to 17, 2008. The photographs by Andrews, who was Ringo Starr's former fiancé, and May Pang, John Lennon's long-time companion, have never been publicly exhibited before. They have recently been published in books by each of the two photographers, and both the photographs and the books will be on sale at the gallery. Andrews, a former Ford model-turned photographer in the 1970s, met and photographed many pop and rock icons during her relationship of more than six years with Ringo Starr. Andrews met Starr through Lennon who introduced them in 1974. The photographs, taken over a decade starting in 1970, reflect her personal experiences at the peak of pop culture history. Pang's intimate photographs of her life with John Lennon offer an unguarded look at the happy and productive time Lennon spent with her. The nine vibrant images reveal a joyful and creatively active Lennon, and correct the misinformation about a period that has been known in Beatle lore as "Lennon's Lost Weekend." The gallery will be closed on Sunday, June 15, but will be open on Monday, June 16, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. 591 BROADWAY, NEW YORK, NY 10012/212-226-1660 (Between Houston and Prince Streets) Gallery Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 11 am to 6 pm |
