Once again we will be getting together to play and sing at a fabulous location amidst the lights of Times Square! Finally, the big time! Venue has 3 levels and we are taking over the toppermost of the poppermost.

Not only will we be able to see old and make new friends, this will be the fundraiser that helps to keep this site going (there is a monthly fee) and if there's any leftover we can use it for giveaways or other events. The fee is $5 at the door or you are welcome to pay via paypal.

Important order of business: George Harrison's bday month so certainly we will celebrate this great guy.

Co Organizer JB will be our music guru for the event and I understand he's already channeling George. Members are welcome to bring ACOUSTIC instruments for jamming... and we expect EVERYONE to be in on the action. The space is broken into two parts - one excellent for playing and another perfect for socializing (which could also be considered playing) and eating.

Check out some dark and steamy footage from last year's party here (thanks to JB!)

This is a restaurant. There is a bar with a great pub menu .... You cannot bring outside food and drink.

RSVP NOW!!!!!!!!!! We need to have a headcount in order to notify the restaurant of our group size (and so we can have maximum space) and we will also have a list at the door. Your names need to be on it. Don't be shy - RSVP!!!!

Remember: The more of us there are, the louder we can sing smile

Ah! So glad I was able to squeak my way into this. Hope I actually show, right?! Actually, I may know a 2ND person who will want to go with me. I hopes I can get her inside. These Meetup events really pack 'em in! (I'm sorry - I meant these BEATLES Meetup events.)

We had such a great time last year, I can't wait to do it again.

Who attended?

    •  It was a killer diller singalong and a superb turnout of the best, most talented and friendliest bunch of music fans on earth! YAY Beatle Meetuppers!! How soon will our vocal chords be ready to do it again?

Tell me where to sign up for next year's Singalong.
    •  FABulous! Great vibe, friendly people, and, of course, wonderful music. Thanks everyone who organized the meeting, the musicians, and the singers ...
    •  Kudos to Jane for organizing this incredible event. The venue was perfect and the vibe and people were the best. I was thrilled to see so many Beatles fans of all ages getting together to make and celebrate the best music in the world
    •  On the plus side, the attendees were very enthusiastic, and for the most part very friendly. The giveaways were also a fun touch. I thought the highlight of the evening was when they sang "When the JANE comes...". On the negative side, the amps were turned up so much on a lot of the electrified instruments that it was hard to hear others sing or play. For instance, I could barely hear the violins, and it seemed they were adding some good parts. Also, I sat by the window, since those were the free seats when I arrived, which turned out to be a bad choice, as the room had temperature/climate modulation issues, which led to a night-long controversy between different members about the extent of the open state of the window, and eventually a dose of good old-fashioned NY rudeness. For me, this was a little disheartening, especially as this was an event whose purpose, in part, was to promote togetherness.

I only wish the room was bigger and that they had more vegetarian food.
    • Ingrid (+1 guest)
       Stupendous. Great fun.
    •  Loved the room, the location, the people, the music, the fish-n-chips. But especially the music and the people!!!
    •  felt too cramped. I like the other venue more even though it's just as cramped. Looks like the ambiance is a little more "open" at the other location in the Village.

It was the best meetup...had a great time
    •  Terrific event! So much fun!
    •  What a beautiful way to breathe Beatles for a night!
    • Joe
Great meetup. Everyone had a good time.
    •  When I walked into the room, it was like being hit with a wave of LUV! Thought I was going to stay for an hour but the Beatle bug bit me and I couldn't leave...Great experience, glad I went....a really success story for this group...
    •  This was my first meetup, I didn't know anyone, and I've never felt so comfortable in a big group of people I never met before. Everyone recognized the songs from the first chord, knew the words, and knew what comes next on the album--I fit right in!
    • JB
What a freakin' blast ! Everytime I looked up from playing my Bass & glanced at the room filled with Meetuppers, friends & family, I kept feeling I was in a place filled with celebrities. Hank said it best...."some fun tonite" A Twist & Shout out to all you great people for making it happen, & a special thanks to Jane, Marianne,Susan,Stephen & Joe for the superb way you all had a hand in organizing this great get together to celebrate our beloved George Harrison. The New York City Meetup Group Triumphs once again !!
    •  It was wonderful. As always, I really enjoyed getting together w/ my Beatle Buds, laughing, singing and just having an awesome time!
    •  I had a wonderful time playing the music I love best with other people who love it too
    •  As usual the event was a groovy experience. Whenever i attend the beatles meetup groups i feel a certain kinship i feel as though together as a group we are rising above the mundane. As a group we have an unpenetrable bond that cannot be described in words. We understand the same feelings. We feel the vibes that the first Beatles fans must have experienced when they first broke into the scene. These are the reasons i am so glad to be a part of the meetup group. Thanks to Jumbi who introduced me to this. Thanks to all of you for having me and i look forward to the next event.
    •  The venue was too small for such a large turnout. I expected an acoustic set but ended up listening to a full out performance of a band.
    •  Thanks Jane and cohorts for planning this fun evening! It was fab!
